Dan reminds his students that

… and he has been practicing what he preaches over the past 40 some years sharing his knowledge
of transparent watercolor through classes and workshops.

For years, Dan traveled the Eastern United States displaying his work at numerous Wildlife Art Shows and Festivals.

As one of the founding fathers and past president of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, Dan helped to increase awareness of watercolor to the Western New York region through the, now 35 year, institution.

Dan utilized his talents in the advertising, aviation and packaging industries, designing for a couple of Buffalo area ad agencies, Boeing Aircraft’s Vertol Division and a Buffalo folding carton manufacturer.

He also illustrated stories for Wildfowl and American Wildfowler magazines and was a regular illustrative contributor of both stories and editorials for Guns and Ammo magazine.

Dan’s creations have won numerous awards including being named Artist of the Year by the Buffalo chapter of Ducks Unlimited. His illustrations have been featured on posters, adorned consumer packaging and accompanied national magazine articles.

Dan graciously acknowledges those in his life who have supported, encouraged and tolerated his pursuit in art including his instructors at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
